Meet our Providers

Dr. Jeffrey Rubin

Dr. Rubin is originally from Pennsylvania and completed his medical degree, residency in Anesthesia, and fellowship in Pain Management at Penn State University.  He is board certified by both the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Rubin moved to Atlanta in 1998.  After practicing anesthesia at several area hospitals, Dr. Rubin decided to focus on pain management exclusively.  In 2008 he established Physician Pain Care in Woodstock to provide quality, cutting edge, personalized service to patients suffering from chronic pain.

Dr. Rubin lives in Atlanta with his wife and two daughters.  When he’s not working, Dr. Rubin enjoys being a husband and father, traveling with his family, photography, and snow skiing as often and as fast as possible.

Dr. Nathan J. Smith

Dr. Smith is originally from Marietta, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate at Georgia State University and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He did his residency in anesthesia and fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. During his time there he was able train under physicians originally from the Cleveland Clinic and Texas Tech who had first hand training experience under the physician founders of pain
management such as Dr. Nagy Mekhail and Dr. Gabor Racz.

His experience and interests in pain medicine includes a wide array of
interventional procedures including SCS/DRG neuromodulation techniques
including implant, infusion therapy, and regenerative medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys HIIT training, weightlifting, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with family, friends (and his dogs). He also enjoys being a foodie with his wife, watching his son play soccer, and working on cars. He is interested in physician political activism to help protect the future of physician led medicine.
